The well-maintained Loon Golf Course is a "players course" for all levels of experience. This 18-hole course is situated in a perfect location for great, playable golf. On January 8, 2003, Mike Husby, a thirty-year veteran in "Northern Michigan Golf", and a small group of investors purchased back The Loon Golf Club from the Ostego Club.

Many improvements are scheduled, including renovated sand traps, permanent restrooms constructed on the golf course, new electric golf carts, restoring the original pro-shop on the lower level and renovating the restaurant. The Loon will be hosting the Michigan PGA Seniors Championship July 27-July 29 and the Men's & Women's Atlas Cup Matches September 20-21.
