An integer between 55 and 155 representing the difficulty of a golf course for a player of average skill. 113 is the slope value of a course of "average" difficulty. The higher the Slope, the greater the difficulty.
This number has significance only when calculating handicaps.
Slope is typically used in conjunction with another number, called the Course Rating. Slopes are used primarily within the United States, whereas Ratings are used internationally.
